Man Hunt Ends with Capture

(Hardin County, ILL) -- Approximately 08:50 am, Illinois State Police in conjunction with the Kentucky State Police, arrested 41 year-old, Billy C. Utley. Utley was located at the Cave-In-Rock Motel in Cave-In-Rock Illinois. Illinois State Police surrounded the motel and Utley surrendered without incident. He was lodged in (Harrisburg) Saline County, IL. awaiting extradition to Kentucky.

KSP Seeking Information on a Murder Suspect

Wheatcroft, KY (Webster County) -- On June 19, 2012, Kentucky State Police Post 2 units responded to a shooting in Wheatcroft, KY at the request of the Webster County Sheriff's Department. Upon arriving on scene units discovered Theresa A. Utley deceased inside a vehicle. The investigation revealed that Mrs. Utley's estranged husband, Billy C. Utley, shot her with a high powered rifle. Mr. Utley then fled the scene. The Webster county coroner pronounced Theresa A. Utley dead at scene.

Detectives followed up on several leads in Webster, Union and Henderson counties.

A murder warrant has been issued for Mr. Utley. Mr. Utley is considered armed and dangerous. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police. Anyone with information concerning the investigation or whereabouts of Mr. Utley is urged to contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-270-676-3313 or toll free at 1-800-222-5555.

The Webster County Sheriff's Department and the Wheatcroft Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
