Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on US 431

Beechmont, KY. (Muhlenberg County) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury collision that occurred on US 431 in Beechmont on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at approximately 1:43 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Richard Burton, age 47 of Richland, IN, was operating a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck on Arnold Drive. Rhonda Ford, age 39 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 1993 Chevrolet Lumina northbound on US 431. Mr. Burton did not see Ms. Ford's vehicle approaching and pulled into her path. The two vehicles collided and both exited the roadway. Ms. Ford's vehicle struck a pole and a building before coming to rest.
Ms. Ford was flown from the scene to St. Mary's in Evansville, IN for treatment. Mr. Burton and his passengers, Sherry Nannie, age 44 of Browder, KY, and Grace Nannie, age 12 of Browder, KY, were not injured. All subjects involved were wearing seatbelts.
Trooper Craig Engler investigated the collision. The Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department, Muhlenberg County EMS, and PHI Air Medical assisted at the scene.
