Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon Arrest

Mortons Gap, KY. (Hopkins County) The Kentucky State Police arrested a Mortons Gap man on gun charges earlier today.

On Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at approximately 11:20 a.m., KSP Trooper First Class John Komar accompanied Probation and Parole on a home visit at the residence of Timothy E. Hawkins, age 47, located at 330 Trabue Road, Mortons Gap.

A search of the property revealed a total of 13 long guns and ammunition. Mr. Hawkins is currently on a felony diversion and is prohibited from possessing firearms. Mr. Hawkins was arrested without incident and lodged in the Hopkins County Jail. He was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (class D Felony).
