Hopkins County Injury Collision Involving Tractor Trailer

Mortons Gap, KY. (Hopkins County) The Kentucky State Police investigated a single-vehicle injury collision that occurred on the Pennyrile Parkway, approximately one mile north of Mortons Gap, on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at approximately 8:02 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Christopher R. Hause, age 37 of Decatur, IL, was operating a 2006 Freightliner tractor-trailer northbound on the Pennyrile Parkway when his vehicle exited the right shoulder of the roadway. The tractor-trailer traveled behind a guardrail and into a ditch striking an earth embankment. It came to rest facing north off the roadway with the trailer on its side.

Mr. Hause was transported via ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was wearing a seatbelt. There were no passengers.

Trooper Curtis Crick conducted the investigation. Trooper Jon McGehee, Trooper Nathan Craft, the Hopkins County Sheriff's Department, the South Hopkins Volunteer Fire Department, and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
