Christian County Two Vehicle Injury Collision Involving DUI

Hopkinsville, KY. (Christian County) – The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury collision involving DUI that occurred on US 41 at Hilltop Drive on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at approximately 7:09 p.m.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Paul Drury, age 82 of Hopkinsville, KY, was operating a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe on US 41 when he turned into the path of a 1993 Toyota Camry operated by James Torian, age 56 of Hopkinsville, KY.
Mr. Torian was transported via ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Both subjects were wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Mr. Drury was charged with Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence 2nd Offense, Possession of Open Alcoholic Container in Motor Vehicle, and Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance 1st Offense. He was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.
Trooper Derek Smith conducted the investigation. HPD Officer Daniel Gray and Hopkinsville EMS assisted at the scene.
