Two-Vehicle Injury Collision in Muhlenberg County

Greenville, KY. (Muhlenberg County) The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury collision that occurred on Jernigans Chapel Road, approximately two miles east of Greenville, on Monday, April 30, 2012 at approximately 10:24 a.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Thomas Spurlock, age 63 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 2012 Toyota Tacoma southbound on Jernigans Chapel Road. Ronald Chandler, age 54 of Sebree, KY, was operating a 2004 Advance concrete mixer. He was stopped in northbound lane on Jernigans Chapel Road. For an undetermined reason, Mr. Spurlock's vehicle crossed the centerline and struck the concrete mixer head-on in the northbound lane.

Mr. Spurlock was flown from the scene to St. Mary's in Evansville, IN for treatment. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Mr. Chandler, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.

Trooper Craig Engler investigated the collision. KSP CVE, the Greenville Volunteer Fire Department, Muhlenberg County EMS, and PHI Air Medical assisted at the scene.
