Man Taken To Hospital After Vehicle Collides With His Lawnmower

Bremen, KY. (Muhlenberg County) The Kentucky State Police investigated a vehicle versus lawn mower injury collision that occurred on KY 175, approximately half-a-mile north of Bremen, on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at approximately 12:26 p.m.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Johnny Ford, age 48 of Owensboro, KY, was operating a 1997 Toyota Corolla northbound on KY 175. Alan Tucker, age 62 of Bremen, KY, was operating a 2001 John Deere riding lawn mower. Mr. Tucker was mowing the shoulder and traveled into the northbound lane of KY 175. Mr. Ford attempted to swerve and avoid the lawn mower, but was unable to do so. His vehicle struck the lawn mower.

Mr. Tucker was transported via ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Ford, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.

Trooper Craig Engler investigated the collision. Trooper Jerrod Hearld, the Bremen Volunteer Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
