Update to the Uncle and Aunt Arrested on Child Abuse Charges

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On April 5, 2012 at approximately 11:00 P.M., Detective Lloyd Ray was notified by Vanderbilt Children's Medical Center Hospital that the 9 month old victim, Jack Stark, had passed away as a result of the injuries he had sustained.
Detective Lloyd Ray along with Christian County, County Attorney Mike Foster, will be seeking to amend the Assault 1st Degree-Domestic Violence charge to Murder 1st Degree for both Mr. and Mrs. Leutwyler. Mr. and Mrs. Leutwyler remain lodged at the Christian County Detention Center.

Uncle and Aunt Arrested on Child Abuse Charges

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On April 3, 2012 at approximately 8:40 P.M., Kentucky State Police, Post 2 Madisonville, received a call from Christian County E.O.C. in reference to a 9 month old juvenile male who was found unresponsive at 105 North Cavalcade Circle, Oak Grove, KY. The juvenile was taken to Blanchfield Hospital in Ft. Campbell, KY and later flown to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville, TN. Investigation revealed that the injuries the juvenile sustained were consistent with abuse. On April 5, 2012, Detective Lloyd Ray obtained warrants for Christopher Leutwyler and Joni Leutwyler, the uncle and aunt of the juvenile. Mr. and Mrs. Leutwyler were arrested without incident at their residence and both were charged with Assault, 1st Degree – Domestic Violence and Criminal Abuse 1st Degree – Child 12 or Under. The investigation is continuing by Detective Lloyd Ray.
