Two-Vehicle Injury Collision in Hopkins County

Madisonville, KY. (Hopkins County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury collision that occurred at the intersection of KY 2171 and Sandcut Road, approximately two miles south of Madisonville, on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at approximately 6:45 a.m.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Marie O. Faulk, age 84 of Earlington, KY, was operating a 1995 Cadillac El Dorado. She was stopped at a stop sign on Sandcut Road facing north. Conrad A. Klawuhn, age 34 of Moulton, AL, was operating a 2012 Ducati motorcycle eastbound on KY 2171 approaching the intersection with Sandcut Road.

Ms. Faulk did not see the approaching motorcycle and pulled into the intersection. Her vehicle struck the motorcycle. Mr. Klawuhn, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle. He was transported via ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. Ms. Faulk, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured. There were no passengers involved.

Trooper First Class John Komar investigated the collision. The Grapevine Volunteer Fire Department and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
