Two-Vehicle Injury Collision on KY 189

Greenville, KY. (Muhlenberg County) - The Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle injury collision that occurred on KY 189, approximately one mile south of Greenville, on Friday, March 16, 2012 at approximately 8:35 a.m.

Preliminary investigation reveals that Kenneth Haskill, age 49 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 2011 Hyundai Veracruz southbound on KY 189. Zachary Morris, age 16 of Greenville, KY, was operating a 2012 Hyundai Accent northbound on KY 189. As Mr. Haskill was traveling southbound, his vehicle crossed the centerline and struck Mr. Morris' vehicle head-on.

Mr. Haskill was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. Mr. Morris was removed from his vehicle by other motorists as his vehicle caught fire. He was flown from the scene to Deaconess in Evansville, IN for treatment. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Trooper Jerrod Hearld investigated the collision. The Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department, Greenville Fire Department, Muhlenberg County EMS, and PHI Air Medical assisted at the scene.
