Christian County Assault 1st Degree Investigation/Arrest

Hopkinsville, KY. (Christian County) -- The Kentucky State Police is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at 2870 Gospel of Peace Road, Hopkinsville.

On Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at approximately 11:17 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville received a call from the Christian County Sheriff's Department in reference to a shooting. John C. Patman, age 64 of Hopkinsville, KY, and his son, John L. Patman, age 30 of Hopkinsville, KY, were involved in a domestic dispute at the above residence. The elder Patman was attempting to leave his residence in a vehicle when the younger Patman fired shots into the vehicle striking the elder Patman.

John C. Patman drove himself to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. He was subsequently transported to the Vanderbilt University Hospital where he is in ICU listed in critical condition.

John L. Patman was arrested without incident at a nearby residence. He was charged with Assault 1st Degree-Domestic Violence (Class B Felony) and lodged in the Christian County Detention Center.

The investigation is continuing by KSP Detective Matt Foster. The Christian County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
