Injury Crash on US 431 in Muhlenberg County

Date of News Release: 02/08/2012

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Rory Dorris, age 29 of Dunmor, KY, was operating a 2001 Ford Windstar southbound on US 431 approximately 3 miles north of Dunmor when he failed to negotiate a curve.

The vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway. Mr. Dorris overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. It crossed both lanes of travel and exited off the left shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle overturned several times and ejected Mr. Dorris who was not wearing a seatbelt. The vehicle came to rest upright trapping Mr. Dorris underneath. He was freed by mechanical means. He was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment.

Trooper Craig Engler investigated the crash that occurred on Wednesday, February 08, 2012 at 7:23 a.m. The Muhlenberg County Sheriff's Department, Dunmor Volunteer Fire Department, Beechmont Volunteer Fire Department, and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
