Eddyville Woman Injured in a Collision on US 641

(Fredonia, KY) The Kentucky State Police investigated a single vehicle collision that occurred on US 641 approximately two miles south of Fredonia on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 11:17 A.M.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Cheryl A. Peek, age 52 of Eddyville, KY, was operating a 1999 Dodge Van northbound on US 641. Peek ran off the right shoulder of the roadway, after encountering a section of roadway, which had recovered with snow. Peek attempted to regain control of her vehicle, and over-corrected, crossing the opposing lane of traffic and running off the left shoulder of the roadway. Peek struck a road sign, and an earth embankment, causing her vehicle to overturn.

Peek was extricated from her vehicle and transported to Western Baptist Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Peek was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. The investigation is being conducted by Master Trooper Chris Anderson. KSP was assisted on the scene by Lyon County Sheriffs Department, Lyon County EMS, Lyon County Rescue Squad, Eddyville, Fire Department and the Kuttawa Fire Department.
