New Concord Man Arrested After Fire Investigation in Calloway County

Date of News Release: 12/10/2012

(Mayfield, KY) -- Christopher A. Franklin, 46, of New Concord, Kentucky was arrested by the Kentucky State Police on an Indictment Warrant this date. The Indictment stemmed from an October 31, 2012 investigation where an arson fire heavily damaged the Hamlin One Stop Grocery. Mr. Franklin was charged with Arson 2nd Degree, Fraudulent Insurance Acts Over/$500.00, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree. Mr. Franklin was lodged in the Calloway County Jail with no bond. The investigation continues by Detective Frank Gresham of the Kentucky State Police. Calloway County Fire and Rescue, Calloway County Sheriff's Office, and the Kentucky State Fire Marshal's Office assisted with the investigation.
