KSP Arrest Nets 15 Year Sentence

(Smithland, KY) – Brandon Paul Smith, age 33 of Paducah, KY, was sentenced to 15 years in prison today for Robbery, 1st Degree. Smith was convicted for the armed robbery of the Minit Mart in Ledbetter, KY on January 6, 2012. The investigation was conducted by Detective Kyle Nall.

Arrest Made in the Armed Robbery Investigation in Ledbetter, KY

(McCracken, KY) -- The Kentucky State Police arrested Brandon P. Smith (DOB 08-07-1979 ) on January 11th, 2012 without incident at a residence on Homewood Avenue in Paducah. Mr. Smith was charged with Robbery 1st in connection with an armed robbery at the Minit Mart in Ledbetter, KY on January 6, 2012. Mr. Smith was lodged in the McCracken County Jail. The investigation continues by Detective Kyle Nall.

Armed Robbery Investigation in Ledbetter, KY

(Ledbetter, KY) -— On Friday, January 6, 2012 at about 9:40 p.m. Kentucky State Police received a report of an armed robbery that had occurred at the Minit Mart in Ledbetter. Trooper's arrived on the scene and determined that a white male, armed with a handgun, had robbed the Minit Mart and took an undetermined amount of money before fleeing the scene. At this time State Police believe the suspect to be a white male approximately six feet tall. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt or hoodie, had a blue bandana partially covering his face, and was wearing a multi-colored baseball hat. The following photos were taken from surveillance at the Minit Mart as the suspect entered.
State Police ask anyone with information to contact the Kentucky State Police Post 1 at 270-856-3721, or if they wish to remain anonymous call 1-800-222-5555. The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and citizens are reminded to not approach or attempt to apprehend him, but to call law enforcement. Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by Livingston County Sheriff's Office, and McCracken County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. The investigation is ongoing by Detective Kyle Nall.
