Indiana Man Injured in a Collision on US 62 in Livingston County

(Hickory, KY) On July 20th, 2012, William Kemp was traveling west on US 62 and was attempting to negotiate a curve. The truck and trailer ran off the right shoulder of the road striking a guardrail. The vehicle then traveled over the guardrail and down an embankment where it came to final rest on its top. The vehicle was loaded with plastic pellets that will have to be pumped off onto another truck before it can be up righted and removed. The roadway remained open with only a small interruption in traffic. The roadway is anticipated to be closed for approximately 30-45 minutes while the vehicle is being removed. Motorists should exercise caution when driving through the area. The driver was taken by ambulance to Lourdes hospital and suffered non life threatening injuries. Trooper Williams was assisted at the scene by Livingston County EMS, Grand Lakes Fire Department, and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement a division of the Kentucky State Police. Trooper Williams continues his investigation.
