Illinois Man Killed in a Collision on Bethel Road

Date of News Release: 07/15/2012

MURRAY, KY -- On July 15, 2012 at 6:00 a.m. a 2012 Chevrolet passenger car driven by Robert D. Bramley (33), of Murray, was north bound in the 100 block of Bethel Road in the Van Cleave community of Calloway County. The driver failed to negotiate a curve and his vehicle exited the roadway before colliding with a utility pole. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Khiry T. Williams (23) of Chicago, Illinois was unrestrained, and partially ejected from the vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries. Mr. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene by the Calloway County Coroner's Office. Mr. Bramley was transported to the Murray-Calloway County Hospital and then airlifted to Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee for treatment of injuries he received in this collision.

The Kentucky State Police was assisted in this investigation by the Calloway County Sheriff's Department, Calloway County Fire/Rescue, Murray Police Department and the Calloway County Coroner's Office. The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police Collision Reconstructionist Trooper Thomas Clifton and Sergeant Sam Steger.
