Memorial Service for Fallen Trooper James McNeely

(Hickory, Ky.) - A Memorial Service for fallen Trooper James McNeely will be held on Friday, May 18th at 1:00 PM CDT at the Mayfield Memorial Gardens on Highway 45 South in Mayfield.

Trooper James McNeelyOn April. 8th, 1972, Trooper James McNeely, age 37, drowned during a rescue mission on the Kentucky River in Franklin County. Trooper McNeely's body was never located. At the time of his death, Trooper McNeely was assigned to the Kentucky State Police Headquarters in Frankfort. Trooper McNeely was a native of Wingo, Kentucky (Graves County) where a portion of Highway 339 is named in his memory.
