Update: Beaver Dam Woman Dead and Estranged Husband Arrested

Date of News Release: 09/28/2012

(Henderson, KY) -- Kentucky State Police detectives are still actively investigating this case today. More interviews are being conducted as well as other forensic processing.

The autopsy in Louisville has concluded; however, it may take weeks for KSP investigators to have the official Medical Examiners investigation.

The preliminary investigation reveals that before Jeremie Simpson confronted his estranged wife, he had made unlawful entry to her dwelling at Suburban Apartments in Beaver Dam. DamiAnn Simpson was not home at the time of his intrusion; however, there were three acquaintances staying inside her apartment at that time. Jeremie Simpson allegedly brandished a shotgun where he manually restrained all three persons. As DamiAnn Simpson arrived home, Jeremie Simpson confronted his estranged wife and shot her with the shotgun. After the confrontation, he allowed all three hostages to leave without incident. The freed hostages fled the scene where they contacted Beaver Dam Police officials.

The investigation is currently on-going.
