Clinton County Pursuit and Arrest

(Clinton County, KY) On August 21, 2012 the Kentucky State Police received a complaint of an eratic driver on KY 55 in Adair County. It was later discovered that the vehicle had been stolen out of Lagrange. Trooper Nick Davis observed the suspect vehicle on US 127 in Clinton County and attempted to initiate a traffic stop when the vehicle fled. Trooper Davis pursued the vehicle through Clinton and Cumberland County. After a 21 mile pursuit the suspect lost control of the vehicle, ran off the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, 28 year old, Anthony B. Ortkiesse of Fairdale, Ky. was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Ortkiesse was apprehended by the Knoxville Police Department upon release and lodged in the Knox County Jail. He is currently awaiting extradition back to Kentucky. Ortkiese has been charged with Wanton Endangerment 1st degree-Police Officer. The Kentukcy State Police is requesting that any driver who was ran off the roadway by this vehicle to contact Detective Mike Dubree at (270)384-4796. The Kentucky State Police was assisted by agencies with Adair, Russell, Clinton, and Cumberland County. Detective Dubree is continuing the investigation.
