Washington County Man Arrested after Pursuit

(SPRINGFIELD, Ky.) 32-year-old Dennis R. Sparrow of Harrodsburg, KY was arrested this on Tuesday, July 17th at 6:52 PM EDT and charged with Speeding, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree (motor vehicle), Fleeing/Evading Police 2nd Degree (on foot), Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Required Insurance 1st, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree.

Troopers from Post 7 and Post 15 were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on Sparrow from the Washington County Sheriff's Office at a residence on Main Street in Mackville. As Troopers approached the residence, Sparrow was leaving in a 2002 Chevy and fled. A short vehicle pursuit followed until Sparrow stopped the car and fled on foot. His vehicle was left in gear and rolled backward, striking Trooper Morris Farris cruiser. He was not injured.

Sparrow was caught and arrested 8 miles east of Mackville on Deep Creek Road in Mercer County. He was also charged with Cultivating Marijuana 5 plants or more, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Unlawful Transaction with a Minor 2nd Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on the Washington County Warrant. He was lodged in the Marion County Jail.
