Motorcycle Collision Claims Life of Marion County Man

(LEBANON, KY) – On 06/10/2012 Tpr. Chris Saunders is investigating a collsion that occurred 5 miles west of Lebanon on St. Joe Rd at 12:35 PM EDT. 23-year-old Russell P. Veatch of Finley, KY was traveling east on St. Joe Rd, operating a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Veatch was following a 1997 Acura operated by 17-year-old Skylar M. Godbey of Raywick, KY. Godbey was slowing to make a left turn into a driveway when Veatch struck the Acura in the rear, throwing him from the motorcycle. Veatch was not wearing a helmet and was airlifted to University Hospital in Louisville where he was later pronounced dead. Godbey was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
