Fatality in Monroe County

(Columbia, Ky.) -- Units from Post 15 are investigating a collision that occurred earlier today at approximately 9:42 AM CST in the limits of Tompkinsville that claimed the life of 24-year-old Tiffany Porter. She was the only passenger in a 1998 Ford operated by her husband, 22-year-old Joshua Porter, both of Tompkinsville. The couple were traveling north on KY 163 when Porter's vehicle hydroplaned and slid into the path of a southbound 1995 Chevy Pickup operated by 41-year-old Raymond L Martin of Edmonton, KY.

Joshua Porter was transported and admitted to Vanderbilt Medical Center with serious injuries while Tiffany Porter was transported to the Monroe County Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead by the Monroe County Coroner. Neither were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. Martin, who was belted, was transported to Greenview Medical Center in Bowling Green where he will be treated for non life threatening injuries.

Troopers Daniel Stephens and Dewayne Holder are investigating and were assisted at the scene by Tompkinsville Police Department.
