Post 14 2012 Kentucky State Police Shop with a Trooper

(Ashland, KY) –– On Sunday, December the 9th, the Kentucky State Police Post 14 conducted the 2012 "Shop with a Trooper". 41 children were selected from Boyd, Lawrence, Carter and Greenup Counties to participate in this event.
The selected children were given the opportunity to shop with Troopers and civilian staff members from the Kentucky State Police Post in Ashland.
At 1:00 P.M. on Sunday the children had lunch at the Cannonsburg Walmart before going shopping with a Trooper at the Cannonsburg Walmart. Each child received $150.00 to spend on items of their choosing. After shopping the children traveled to The Ashland Town Center where they met Santa, received a ride on The Blue and White Express Train and then finished the day at Orange Leaf Yogurt.
This event provided these children with presents, food and a positive experience that may have not otherwise been possible.
