Ironton, OH Woman Injured in a Collision on I-64

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland are investigating an injury collision that occurred on Interstate 64 in the area of the 175 mile marker at 0545 hours on October 4, 2012.

Ellie Jenkins age 45, of Ironton, OH was operating a 1998 Black Chevy Blazer Westbound on Interstate 64 and when she lost control of her vehicle overturning. Ms. Jenkins was airlifted to St. Mary's Medical Center where she is currently being treated for her injuries.

It was determined thru Trooper Robinson's investigation that alcohol was not a factor in the collision and all evidence suggests Ms. Jenkins was wearing safety restraints.

Trooper Robinson was assisted on the scene by Trooper Jim Ryland, Carter County EMS and Carter County Fire Department.

The Collision remains under investigation by Trooper Ty Robinson.
