Flatwoods Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

(Ashland, Ky.) -- On Wednesday October 3, 2012 The Kentucky State Police in Ashland received a complaint that numerous images of child pornography had been located at a residence on Clay Street in Flatwoods, KY. During the course of the investigation several thousand images of child pornography were located at the residence and also at separate storage units rented by James K. Raasch.
An arrest warrant was obtained for James K. Raasch, age 71, of Flatwoods, KY on the following charges:
- Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by a Minor (1000 counts)
Information was obtained that Mr. Raasch was currently in Florida. Local authorities were contacted and Mr. Raasch was arrested in Clearwater, FL.
The FBI and Flatwoods Police Department also responded and assisted.
The investigation is ongoing by Detective Jeffrey Kelley.
