Two Killed In A Collision on KY Route 2 in Carter County

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police are investigating a two vehicle collision that occurred on KY Route 2 in Olive Hill, KY. The collision occurred around 0653 hours today. Pamela Carroll, age 53, of Olive Hill, KY was traveling South on KY 2 operating a 2001 Pontiac. Sharon Moore, age 62 of Olive Hill, KY was traveling North on KY 2 operating a 1994 Ford Mustang. It appears Carroll crossed the center line and struck Moore head on. At the time of the collision the roadway was dry and visibility was limited due to foggy conditions.
Carroll was pronounced dead at the scene by Carter County Deputy Coroner Jason Duvall at 0800 AM. Carroll was wearing a seat belt and at this time alcohol does not appear to be a factor. Moore was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 0957 AM. Moore was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
Multiple agencies responded including Trooper Jim Ryland, Olive Hill Police Department, Olive Hill Fire Department, Carter County EMS and The Carter County Coroner's Office.
The Collision remains under investigation by Detective Toby Gardner.
