Carter County Resident On Several Charges

(Ashland, KY) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland have arrested a Carter County resident following an incident that occurred in the Olive Hill area. At approximately 2231 hours, Trooper Joseph Vorbeck, Trooper Eric Homan and Trooper David Boarman were conducting an approved safety checkpoint at the intersection of US 60 and KY 182. A vehicle being operated by Heather Hacker entered the safety checkpoint area. Contact was made with Mrs. Hacker and upon investigation Mrs. Hacker was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence alcohol/drugs .08 1st offense. A search of the vehicle revealed several pills which were not located in the proper container, a green leafy substance thought to be marijuana; various items of drug paraphernalia, a large amount of cash (over $4,000.00) and brass knuckles were all concealed in the vehicle.

Heather M. Hacker, age 35, was arrested, lodged in the Carter County Detention Center and charged with-

  • Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs .08 1st offense
  • Operating on a Suspended/Revoked Operators License
  • Operating Vehicle with Expired Operators License
  • No Operators/Moped License
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Prescription Controlled Substance not in Proper Container 1st Offense
  • Buy/Possess Drug Paraphernalia
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon

The investigation is ongoing by Trooper Eric Homan and Trooper Joseph Vorbeck.
