Two Injured in a Collision on I-64

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is continuing their investigation into a single vehicle collision that occurred on I-64 near the 164 mile post. The collision occurred around 5:45 pm on 5-18-2012.

Travis Blevins, age 27 of Sandy Hook, KY was operating his 2004 Ford Mustang traveling Westbound on I-64 when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle left the roadway and struck an earth embankment. A passenger in the car, Todd Gray, age 28 of Sandy Hook was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Blevins was airlifted to St. Mary's Medical Center for multiple injuries.

Seatbelts were not in use by Gray and it is unclear if seatbelts were in use by Blevins. Carter EMS and Olive Hill Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The collision is still under investigation by Trooper Joe Vorbeck.
