Injury Collision Carter County US60

Date of News Release: 04/17/2012

(Ashland, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police in Ashland is investigating an injury collision involving four motor vehicles, three which were parked and unoccupied. This incident occurred on US 60 around 4:30 pm this evening near the new Upper Tygart Elementary School in Olive Hill, KY.

The names, age, and address of the driver involved cannot be released at this time until family members are notified.

The preliminary investigation revealed the driver of Unit 1 was operating a passenger vehicle westbound on US 60 when the driver apparently lost control of his vehicle causing him to collide with a tree and then another parked vehicle. This collision caused the parked vehicle to collide with two other parked vehicles near the roadway.

The driver of unit 1 was transported by air (KDMC) to Cabell Huntington Hospital for multiple injuries.

The collision is still under investigation by Trooper David Boarman.
