One Killed in a Two Vehicle Collision on North Main Street in the city of Hazard

(Hazard, Ky.) -- A 49 year old Perry county woman has died as a result of an early morning collision in Hazard. The collision happened at 1241 North Main Street in the city of Hazard at about 7:22 A.M. A Saturn passenger car was traveling south along N. Main Street & a Pontiac Grand-Prix was traveling north along N. Main Street. The driver of the Saturn lost control and crossed into the path of the Pontiac Grand-Prix resulting in a head on collision. The operator of the Pontiac Grand-Prix, Diana L. Sexton, age 49 of Hazard who was not wearing a seat belt was transported to the Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased by an emergency room physician. The Driver of the other vehicle David Jones was also transported to the Hazard ARH Hospital and was later flown to a Lexington trauma center and his condition is unknown. Trooper Ear Whitaker is in charge of the investigation.
