Single Vehicle Fatality Occurs In Perry County

(Hazard, Ky.) -- On May 9, 2012 at approximately 1:10 a.m. Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a call of an automobile collision on Ky. 2446 in the Lost Creek Community of Perry County.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Donald Combs, age 34, of Fisty was operating a passenger car when he lost control of the vehicle, ran over an embankment, and came to rest in the creek on it's top. Donald Combs fled the scene of the collision and was later arrested as his residence.
A passenger in the vehicle, Burly R. Combs age 51, also of Fisty was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Perry County Coroner's Office.
Donald Combs was lodged in the Kentucky River Regional Detention Center and charged with Murder, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving under the Influence, and Driving on a DUI Suspended License. No safety belts were in use at the time of the collision. The Investigation is continuing by Tpr. Brandon Thomas.
