Injury Collision Turns to Fatal in Anderson County

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- The Anderson County collision on September 7, 2012 turns into a fatal collision. The driver of the 2005 Toyota passenger car Marie Garmon, was pronounced deceased today by the Fayette Coroner Office.

Injury Collision on US-62 in Anderson County

Date of News Release: 09/09/2012

(Post 12 Frankfort) -- The Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post is investigating an injury collision in Anderson County. The collision occurred on Friday, September 7, 2012 at approximately 4:30 pm on US-62 east of Lawrenceburg.

A 1997 International Dump truck was traveling east on US-62, driven by Eric D. Jenkins of Hustonville, KY. A 2005 Toyota passenger car was traveling west on US-62, driven by Marie Garmon of Lawrenceburg, KY. The dump truck was slowing down to avoid another vehicle in front of him that was slowing to a stop. The dump truck crossed into the westbound lane of US-62 and struck the Toyota passenger car head-on. The driver of the Toyota had to be extricated from her vehicle and was flown to the University of KY Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington, KY.

KSP was assisted by Lawrenceburg PD, Anderson County Fire and EMS. The collision remains under investigation by the KSP Post 12 Collision Reconstruction Team.

Kentucky State Police Post 12 provides police coverage for Anderson, Fayette, Franklin, Scott, Shelby, Spencer and Woodford counties.
