Arson 2nd Degree Elkhorn Plaza Georgetown, KY

(Frankfort, KY.) -- Kentucky State Police and the Georgetown Fire Department are investigating an Arson that occurred at the Elkhorn Plaza located at 1236 Paris Pike in Georgetown. Investigators need help from the public in identifying the individuals involved.
On Monday, May 21, 2012 at 12:41 a.m. a fire was intentionally set behind the Elkhorn Plaza causing damage to a dump truck and a business known as the Old Country Cupboard.
Surveillance video captured images of three individuals tampering with the dump truck and then setting fire to combustible materials that were adjacent to the truck.
On Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 3:46 a.m. Kentucky State Police Frankfort Post Arson Investigator Kevin Dunn arrested Robert C. Farmer, age 20, Rodney L. Smith, age 19 and Daniel R. Hill, age 18 all of Georgetown, KY.
The individuals were located by the Georgetown Police Department after they located the vehicle seen in the surveillance video. Farmer has been charged with Arson 2nd, Smith and Hill have been charged with Complicity to commit Arson 2nd. All three were lodged in the Scott County Detention Center. The investigation is continuing by KSP and the Georgetown Fire Department.
Anyone with information about this arson investigation or any other arson is asked to call the Kentucky Arson Hotline at 1-800-27-ARSON. Callers may receive up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the arsonist. Callers may remain anonymous.
