Robbery Investigation and Arrest in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY.) -- On Sunday, December 30, 2012 at approximately 8:59 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a Robbery that occurred at a store parking lot in East Bernstadt, 5 miles north of London in Laurel County, KY.
Upon arrival Trooper Chris Roberts determined that the female victim, while in the parking lot of the Ape Yard Market on KY 490, was approached by a man, armed with a gun, who demanded money. The victim complied with the demand and the man fled the scene.
Through the course of the investigation Trooper Roberts was able to identify the suspect as James Peters, 27, of London. Peters was arrested and lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center on the charges of Robbery 2nd Degree and Prescription Medication not in the Proper Container.
The female victim was uninjured in the incident.
Trooper Roberts is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by Trooper Donnie Foley.
