(LONDON, KY.) –– Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, congratulates TFC Don Trosper on being honored by Trooper Island, Inc as the 2012 "PAO of the Year" for KSP Public Affairs Officers. This makes the second time that TFC Trosper has been honored by Trooper Island with the first award being presented on August 29, 2010 for the that year.
TFC Trosper, Public Affairs Officer at Post 11, was awarded this year's honor on August 26, 2012 for his dedication and hard work to Trooper Island. Throughout 2012 he was credited with volunteering for many events and programs that benefited Trooper Island by raising several thousand dollars in funding.
Trooper Island is a summer camp for children ages 10 to 12 and is located on Dale Hollow Lake near the Cumberland and Clinton County line. Each summer over 700 children from across the state attend camp free of charge with the camp being operated by donations and fund raisers.
TFC Trosper began his career with the Kentucky State Police in 1993 with assignments at the Madisonville and London posts. He is a native of Knox County, KY but now resides in London with his wife and family.
The London Post Commander, Captain PJ Burnett states: "TFC Trosper's work ethic is outstanding which is evident since he has received this award for 2010 and 2012. The number of children he has helped to attend Trooper Island reaches far and wide. He is a tremendous asset to the Kentucky State Police and the London Post"
