KSP Post 11, London welcomes new personnel

(London, KY.) - The Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London welcomes Lieutenant Bobby Day, Sergeant Joel Woods and Sergeant Starlin Hacker.

On August 16, 2012 the Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received three new supervisors.

Lieutenant Bobby DayLieutenant Bobby Day, a 21-year veteran, began his career with the Kentucky State Police in 1991 as a member of cadet class 69. Upon graduation from the KSP Academy he was assigned to KSP Post 9, Pikeville and in 1995 he transferred to the Special Operations Branch where he was assigned to the Special Response Team. In 2003 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and remained assigned to the Special Operations Branch. In 2006 he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with assignments at the Commissioner's Office, KSP Post 14, Ashland, KSP Academy and KSP Post 13, Hazard.

Lieutenant Day has received the following awards during his career:

KSP Post 9, Pikeville Trooper of the Year in 1994, Special Operations Branch Trooper of the Year in 1997 and 2000, KSP Bravery Award, two (2) KSP Life Saving Awards and six (6) Commissioner's Commendations.

Lieutenant Day, a native of Clay County, KY, resides in Laurel County with his wife and children.

Sergeant Joel WoodsSergeant Joel Woods, a 17-year veteran, began his career with the Kentucky State Police in 1995 as a member of cadet class 73. Upon graduation from the KSP Academy he was assigned to KSP Post 11, London and in 2003 he transferred to KSP Post 15, Columbia. In 2004 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to the KSP Academy. In 2005 he transferred to KSP Post 07, Richmond where he worked until returning to the Academy in 2006. In 2007 he transferred to KSP Post 10, Harlan.

Sergeant Woods has received the following awards during his career:

KSP Bravery Award and three (3) Commissioner's Commendations.

Sergeant Woods, a native of Bell County, KY, resides in Laurel County with his wife and son.

Sergeant Starlin HackerSergeant Starlin Hacker, a 12-year veteran, began his career with the Kentucky State Police in 2000 as a member of cadet class 77. Upon graduation from the KSP Academy he was assigned to KSP Post 11, London and in 2003 he transferred to KSP Post 07, Richmond. In 2008 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to the KSP Drivers Testing Branch. In 2009 he transferred to KSP Post 07, Richmond.

Sergeant Hacker has received the following award during his career:

KSP Bravery Award.

Sergeant Hacker, a native of Jackson County, KY, resides in Gray Hawk with his wife, Shay, and sons.
