Three Killed on I-75 in Whitley County

Date of News Release: 07/06/2012

(Corbin, KY.) – On July 6th, 2012 at approximately 2:55 p.m., Kentucky State Police, Post 11, was notified by the Whitley County 911 Center of a two-vehicle collision with possible fatalities on Interstate 75 northbound at mile marker 19. After arriving, troopers verified that three (3) persons had sustained fatal injury. The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Kentucky State Police, Post 11, Kentucky State Police, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Region #4, Whitley County EMS, and the Whitley County Coroner’s office are currently at the scene.

Interstate 75 northbound at mile marker 19 is currently closed. Northbound traffic is being diverted off at Exit 15 and back on the Interstate at Exit 25.
