Traffic Stop on I-75 Leads to Arrest

(London, KY.) –- On Tuesday, July 03, 2012 at 7:10 AM the Kentucky State Police Post 11 Criminal Interdiction Team made a traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Whitley County.
Upon contacting and communicating with the operator it was determined that Michael D. Cooley, 45, of Dayton, OH was under the influence of some substance that impaired his ability to drive.
Upon further investigation a small amount of Marijuana and approximately $9000 cash was located in the vehicle.
Cooley was arrested and charged with Operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol 1st, Possession of Marijuana, and Failure to or Improper signal.
Cooley was lodged in the Whitley County Detention Center.
Involved in the traffic stop was KSP Sergeant Lafe Owens, KSP Trooper Ryan Loudermilk, Williamsburg Police Officer Brandon Prewitt and the DEA.
