Drug Arrest in Laurel County
Date of News Release: 06/23/2012
(London, KY.) –- On June 23rd, 2012, at 1:00am, State Police Sergeant Steve Walker was conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on KY3434 in northern Laurel County. A 1999 Nissan Pathfinder approached the location and attempted to avoid being stopped by turning into a nearby parking lot. The operator identified as Kimberly Johnson, age 47 of London, was stopped and subsequently arrested. Seven plastic bags containing methamphetamine, Oxycodone pills, and drug paraphernalia were located in Ms. Johnsons possession. Johnson was charged with Driving Under the Influence 2nd offense, No Operators License, Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (2 or more grams Methamphetamine), Possession Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Oxycodone) and Drug Paraphernalia Possession. Sergeant Walker was assisted by Laurel County Deputy Sheriff Justin Walker and Constable Denver Mays.
