Bomb Threat in Laurel County

(London, KY.) - On Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at approximately 5:05 PM, the Kentucky State Police, Post 11 London, received a report of a possible bomb threat against the Somerset Community College in Laurel County.

Senior Trooper John Barnett began an investigation into the alleged threat and discovered that Taylora Smith, 22, of Manchester had posted a comment in reference to bombing the school.

Trooper Jeff Senters located Smith at her place of employment in Manchester and transported to London for questioning.

Trooper Barnett arrested Smith on the charge of Terroristic Threatening 1st Degree, which can carry a possible sentence of 5 to 10 years imprisonment, and lodged her in the Laurel County Detention Center.

Trooper Barnett is in charge of the investigation and was assisted by KSP Trooper Jeff Senters and Laurel County Emergency Management Director Abby Hale.
