Fatal collision on US 460 in Pike County

(Elkhorn City, Ky.) -- On Sunday February 6, 2011 Post 9 Pikeville received a call of a single vehicle accident on Ferrels Creek road. Preliminary investigation indicates tht 47 year old Anthony D. Sayers of Belcher, Ky. was traveling East on US 460 when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crossed the centerline striking a guardrail, the vehicle overturned and traveled down an embankment. Anthony Sayers was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Deputy Coroner Denver Bailey. This accident remains under investigation by Trooper Michael Webb. Tpr. Webb was assisted at the scene by Tpr. Creekmore and Tpr. Thacker.
