Stabbing Investigation in Elliott County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On December 25, 2011 at 2:36 AM, Elliott County Dispatch contacted Kentucky State Police Post 8 in Morehead and requested assistance to the scene of a stabbing. Trooper Joseph Zalone, Detective Donnie McGraw, Sergeant Brian Evans, Sergeant Rob Prater and the Elliott County Sheriff's department responded to the scene at 33 Keith Whitley Boulevard in Sandy Hook. Jamie Dillon and Debra Clevenger were residing at the residence when Edward Crowley forced his way into the home. Jamie Dillon and Edward Crowley then were involved in a physical altercation that resulted in Mr. Crowley being stabbed several times in, what appears to be, self defense. Edward Crowley was pronounced deceased by Elliott County coroner Mark Lewis at 3:55 AM. Next of kin has been notified. Autopsy is pending. No arrests have been made at this time, but the case will be presented to the next meeting of the Elliott County Grand Jury. The case remains under investigation by Detective Donnie McGraw.
