Injury collision on on KY 9000

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On December 4, 2011 at 4:11pm Sergeant Mike Wolfe with the Kentucky State Police notified Kentucky State Police Morehead of a single vehicle injury accident on KY 9000 (Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway). Mr. Joshua Kidd was traveling West on KY 9000 operating a 2007 Ford mustang. Mr. Kidd's vehicle left the roadway and traveled in the median before striking a ditch. After striking the ditch the vehicle then made contact with the guardrail causing the vehicle to become airborne and strike a pillar from an overpass on KY 9000. After striking the pillar the vehicle flipped and came to a rest facing east bound on KY 9000 in the west bound lane. Mr. Kidd was treated on scene by Powell County EMS and was then airlifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The accident remains under the investigation of Trooper Charles Bowling, Unit 576.
