Injury collision on US 68 in Fairview, Ky

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On November 14, 2011, at 9:19 PM, Trooper Eugene Robinson and Trooper Gary Hall with the Kentucky State Police in Morehead were notified by Fleming County Dispatch of an injury accident on US 68 near the junction of Johnson Creek Road in Fairview. Cody Ruark was operating a 2003 GMC pickup westbound on US 68. Troy Stewart was operating a 1998 Buick LeSabre westbound on US 68. Mr. Ruark attempted to make a left hand turn onto Johnson Creek Road. Mr. Stewart attempted to pass Mr. Ruark from the rear. The Buick struck the GMC on the driver's side door as it attempted to turn left. Both vehicles came to final rest on US 68. Both Mr. Ruark and Mr. Stewart were transported from the scene by Fleming County Emergency Medical Service to Meadowview Regional Hospital in Mason County for treatment.

Mr. Ruark was later transported to the University of Cincinnati Hospital. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Gary Hall.
