Attempted murder investigation in Fleming County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On November 14, 2011, at 5:55 PM, Kentucky State Police in Morehead was contacted by Fleming County Dispatch requesting assistance with a shots fired complaint on Stockton Road in Wallingford. Trooper Eugene Robinson and Trooper Gary Hall responded to the scene along with Fleming County Deputy Thurman Paige. Mamie C. Hamm exited her residence and began shooting a pistol towards her daughter, Direnda Kielman, and a crowd of people while they were standing in a nearby yard. Ms. Hamm was arrested without incident. She was charged with nine counts of Wanton Endangerment First Degree and one count of Attempted Murder (Domestic Violence). Ms. Hamm was lodged at the Mason County Detention Center. The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Gary Hall.
