One killed in a singe vehicle collision on US60

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On October 3, 2011, at 8:56 PM, Kentucky State Police in Morehead received a call from Bath County Dispatch of a single vehicle injury accident on US60 approximately three miles east of Salt Lick in Bath county. Trooper Jason Brown, Trooper Michael Wathan, KSP CVE Officer Tommy Jones, KSP CVE Sergeant Jason Townsend and Bath County Fire and EMS responded to the scene. Christopher Miller was operating a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse westbound on US60. Mr. Miller lost control of the vehicle. The Mitsubishi crossed the eastbound lane and exited the left shoulder of the roadway. The Mitsubishi traveled across a lawn. The Mitsubishi struck a mailbox and a fence. The vehicle also struck a tree before coming to final rest. Passenger, Scotty Conley, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Bath County Coroner Robbie Powell at 0935 hours. Mr. Miller was air lifted to the University of Kentucky Medical Center for treatment. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Jason Brown.
