Date of News Release: 09/07/2011

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On September 4, 2011 Kentucky State Police Morehead was notified by Morgan County Dispatch of an unresponsive subject laying in the woods on Conley Branch Road in Morgan County. Trooper Joseph Zalone along with Morgan County EMS responded to the scene. Trooper Zalone located the subject in a ditch line along the roadway. Trooper Zalone approached the subject later identified as Allen Denney. Mr. Denney rose to his feet and attempted to flee from the scene. Trooper Zalone gave multiple commands for the subject to stop running and lie on the ground. Mr. Denney ignored all commands and continued to flee the scene. Trooper Zalone then deployed his taser and Mr. Denney became compliant. Mr. Denney was transported to Morgan Appalachian Regional Hospital in West Liberty, KY due to his extreme alcohol intoxication level. After Mr. Denney was medically cleared he was charged with Fleeing and Evading Police, Resisting Arrest and Alchohol Intoxication in a Public Place. Mr. Denney has been lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, KY.
