Meth Lab in Wolfe County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police Morehead received information of possible drug activity at a residence on Rice Lane in Wolfe County. Kentucky State Police Morehead Trooper Erwin Eiserman along with Wolfe County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Trooper Eiserman observed ten marijuana plants growing along the woodline of the property. Mr. Lowell Rice advised that they were on his property. Mr. Rice then gave consent to search the residence where six active one step methamphetamine labs were discovered along with paraphernalia associated with the methamphetamine making process. Detectives from the Drug Enforcement Special Investigations were dispatched to secure the scene. Mr. Rice has been taken into custody and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Meth Precursor, Cultivate in Marijuana, Buy/Possess Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Controlled Substance. Mr. Rice is being lodged at the Three Forks Regional Jail in Beattyville, Ky. No one was injured while investigating the scene. The incident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police Morehead.
