One killed in a ATV collision on Big Brushy Road in Rowan County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- As a result of an accident on July 8, 2011 on Big Brushy Road in Morehead, Joseph Jennings succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced deceased while in hospice care. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Michael Wathen.

One injured in a ATV collision on Big Brushy Road in Rowan County

(Morehead, Ky.) -- On July 8th, 2011 at 2328 Hours, Kentucky State Police Morehead received a call from Rowan County Dispatch in reference to a ATV Accident that occurred on Big Brushy Road in Rowan County. Trooper Michael Wathen, Trooper Keith Howard, Trooper Scott Caudill, Trooper Whitney Howard, Rowan County Sheriff's Department, and Rowan County Fire/EMS responded to the scene. Joseph C. Jennings was operating a 2008 Arctic Cat ATV, Northbound on Big Brushy Road, when he drove off the roadway and flipped the vehicle, becoming trapped underneath. A passerby came upon the accident and saw the vehicle on it's top and called emergency services. The victim was transported to St. Claire Medical Center, and was later taken to UK Medical center in Lexington for treatment. Alcohol appears to have been a factor in the accident. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Michael Wathen.
